Bliss

“This is wrong.” Hannah said, aiming a kick at an especially infuriated column of white cloud.

“I know this is all a shock,” said her Grandmother, “but you will get used to it. We were all surprised by the aneurism, none of your lot saw it coming and even I thought you’d have a month or two more.”

“But this cannot be it!” shrieked Hannah, her voice coming out as a whisper despite her vocal chords straining; why would anyone need the ability to scream where she was? “An eternity of bliss will send me mad; its just too peaceful!”

Her flash fiction story ‘Glorious Silence’ was named as River Ram Press’ short story of the month for August 2014 and her short story ‘A Visit From The Fortune Teller’ has been showcased on the literary site Ink Pantry. Her poem ‘Sunsets’ was featured on Eyes Plus Words, and two of her poems were included in the DVerse Poets Pub Publication ‘Chiaroscuro’ which is available for purchase on amazon. More recently her poem ‘Until The Light Gets In‘ was accepted and published at The Drabble and her poem ‘Newborn’ was published by Ink Sweat & Tears. 1. You’re right!
He never comes at the time we are ready and waiting for him!

And at the start when we do not understand what Eternity means, we still think as an Earthling, too much of anything, even good, it is too much… :)))

Beautiful and vivid twist… somewhat acid as lemon, but good for the soul!

    Thank you!

    Od Liam

I like the idea of an ‘eternity of bliss being too peaceful’ almost suggests a kind of hell.
    Great piece Carol
