Words trickle too fast,
floods of imagination;
leaves only ink blots.
The challenge for Haiku August is to write a haiku for every day of the month. Some days I manage more than that and others I will only have the one poem.
Traditionally a haiku should follow the syllable pattern 5,7,5 and contain mention of a season, or suggestion of a season.
Not all of my haikus follow this pattern, but I will do my best to make them interesting.
Make sure to leave a comment if you see one you especially like. It is wonderful to see when that little orange notifcations box lights up at the top of my screen.
Words trickle too fast,
floods of imagination;
leaves only ink blots.
(My best friend and I have realised something. My Haikus are starting to represent a form of twitter. Limited syllables and random thoughts".)
Around two o’clock
we though of the old abbey
and dropped everything-
Essay work is done,
time for cuddling with a book
and lovely boyfriend.
If I could listen
to the ghosts within the mist…
I might just go mad.
My wardrobe divide
does not account for seasons.
Cold? Just grin and bare.
We thought that maybe…
If we tried doing it with…
But the joint was stuck.
