Dreamer #DVersePoets

Caught you,

cheeks still glittering

with last night’s sand

and your head

so heavy in my palms

that I thought it a moon

caught up in my orbit,

the rings about us singing

that all dreams must end.

  1. I love the way the poem starts with direct address, Carol, short and sweet, as if I’ve been discovered in the act, and then those beautiful lines:
    ‘cheeks still glittering
    with last night’s sand
    and your head
    so heavy in my palms
that I thought it a moon’.
