Thank you. I was trying to write a ‘romantic’ poem earlier for the Cupid’s Arrow competition but it didn’t work out the way I wanted. This ended up being far closer to the style of poem I wanted to write. Lovely prompt.

Kissing can be a prelude or a farewell. Isn’t it grand that kisses get the juices running and the engines revving? Your sensual poem was titillating, yet prudent.

You say so much about the relationship by describing the kisses. I especially like,
    “sweet pecks…
    like commas in conversation,
    were the pauses for breath
    anchoring us to each other.
It is interesting these quick kisses are the foundation of the relationship. Rings true.
    Great poem.

    “While the sharp, sweet pecks
    always on the way past
    like commas in conversation”

    Wow, that is so cool.

I love the wordplay in the title, Carol, the gentle brush strokes of detail and the progression, especially in the lines:
    ‘less clothed
    more time consuming,
    all consuming’
and those pecks ‘like commas in conversation’, Stunning!

Ah, I love how the title matches the tone here — those “commas in conversation” and something “less slow, less relaxed/less clothed” make for a wonderful word-play. Very judicious use of 44 words! 🙂
